About Us
Frodee – My very first Boston Terrier!
THE ROUND BALL OF BRINDLED FUR
In the year 2003, late spring I was on my way to the Okatoma River to spend a weekend with my children and grand children as I had rented a cabin for us. We all enjoyed grilling out and rolling down the river water falls in fun-yaks. I stopped at a Walmart shopping center along the way to buy sunscreen and other items we would need for our outing. As I pulled into the parking lot, there was a lady in a pick up truck next to me sitting on her tail gait. As I was going past her, she held out her hand with a fuzzy brindled ball. To my surprise she was offering it to me for a lowered price of $250. A BOSTON TERRIER PUPPY!!!. I told her I thought they were so cute but I was not in the market for a puppy and I had never owned a Boston Terrier but I love dogs.
She shared with me that she had lowered the price because she only had the two left and they wanted to go on vacation. It was so tiny. I told her that I was not in a hurry so go ahead and sell them while I am in the store……….but……..that if the little brindled fur ball was still available when I return that I would buy it from her lols. Upon my return she was sitting there smiling and held out the fur ball for me to take. I wrote her a check and she gave me his AKC (American Kennel Club) registration papers and some food she’d been giving him. He was a super cute fat little puppy and boy were my kiddos going to be surprised to meet our new family member.
Looking back and knowing now what I know I am pretty sure that lady sold him to use at around 5 weeks of age. He barely moved about and was slow eating and we had to nudge hm to eat.My daughter Laura was still in high school and lived with me and of course we thought to call me Froto after the famous hobbit that we both adored. As the days passed and his little personality comes to life, we decided his real name was Frodee lols. He was whimsical and funny and full of life. Oh my gosh he was a furry piranha and growing like super fast! He had no one but us to practice alpha competition with and it was not very pleasant for us lols. Eventually he ‘got it’ on the discipline but there was much much more for that puppy to learn………and us too lols.
……to be continued…..
What can I say? I love Boston Terriers!
We love both the Boston Terrier and the French Bulldog breed and find them to be very compatible together as pets.
The following is a very good description of Boston Terrier Breed. Enjoy ~
The following video found on YouTube describes them very well.
